New Patients
Welcome to El Cerro Dental
Everything you need to know before your first visit — what to bring, what to expect, and how we handle insurance and payment.
Your First Visit
What your first appointment
actually looks like
A Complete Picture
Your first visit starts with a comprehensive exam and any necessary digital X-rays — a full assessment of your teeth, gums, bite, and existing dental work.
An Unhurried Conversation
Dr. Jain reviews everything with you in plain language: what's healthy, what needs attention, and what can simply be watched. Your questions get real time.
A Cleaning, Usually Same Day
If your gums are healthy, a professional cleaning is typically completed at the same visit — so you leave with a fresh start, not another appointment.
A Clear Plan, In Writing
If treatment is recommended, you'll get a written plan with costs before anything is scheduled. What's urgent, what can wait, and what it costs — no surprises.
Please plan on 60–90 minutes for your first visit, and bring a photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, a list of current medications, and any recent dental X-rays.
Insurance & Payment
Clarity before care,
always
We work with most major PPO dental insurance plans. Before your visit, our front office verifies your benefits and explains exactly what your plan covers — so you never learn about a cost after the fact.
No insurance? You'll always receive a written estimate before treatment, and we can walk you through payment options — including third-party financing for larger treatment plans.
Have a plan you don't see listed? Call us at (925) 837-8564 — plan networks change, and we're happy to check your specific coverage.

Nervous About Coming In?
If it's been years — or if dentistry has never felt easy for you — you'll find no judgment here. Your first visit can be as simple as a conversation.
